Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani has applauded achievements of honored Iranian athletes at Rio 2016 Olympics in a ceremony on Sunday.

The Iranian official has commended medal winners of Iranian medal winners in the 31st edition of Summer Olympic Games.

Iranian athletes exercised intensive competition with their all capabilities and achieved good success in some majors making the hearts of the people happy.

‘But, in some other fields, in spite of efforts and endeavors, no success was achieved, so it is necessary to get ready for the next events with appropriate planning and programming.’

The Iranian team ended the Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro ranking 25th in the standings, winning eight medals – three golds, one silver and four bronzes. / Tehran times /
